About Me
Máté Mészáros
Designer & Operations ProfessionalI'm the kind of person who gets equally excited about a beautifully composed illustration and a perfectly optimised process flowchart.
My career has taken an unusual path, from IT administration and graphic design in Hungary, to studying Media Design in Budapest, to managing real-time flight operations for one of Europe's largest low-cost carriers. Each step added a new layer to how I think and what I can do.
Alongside all of this, I've been creating art and taking on design commissions since 2018. The freelance work keeps the creative instinct sharp, regardless of what my day job looks like.
I'm currently based between the Netherlands and Hungary, working as a Crew Controller at WizzAir while continuing to take on freelance design projects. I'm fluent in Hungarian and English.
How I Work
A few things I believe deeply
Adaptability is a skill
I've worked in IT, design, and aviation operations. The thread between them is that I pick things up fast, adjust to new environments, and stay useful under pressure. Adaptability isn't a personality trait — it's something you practise.
High stakes sharpen thinking
Managing flight disruptions in real time — with passengers, crews, and partners all watching the clock — teaches you to make clear decisions quickly. That mentality carries into every project I touch.
Create as often as possible
I've been doing freelance creative work continuously since 2018 — not because I had to, but because making things is how I think. A side project is never really a side project; it's where ideas live.
Communication is the actual job
Whether coordinating departments at a casino, handling a flight delay with 200 passengers, or delivering design work to a client — nearly every failure I've seen comes down to communication. I take it seriously.
